Samsung said it will manufacture the next generation of mobile processors using artificial intelligence technologies.
The company intends to use Synopsys' DSO.ai software. With its help, processors of the Exynos series will be created. DSO.ai is reported to be the first commercial application of AI software in processor design.
It should be understood that not all processes will be transferred to algorithms. The company intends to use reinforcement learning only to automatically find the best design. It is worth noting that there can be 10⁹⁰⁰⁰⁰ chip design options.
Synopsys claims that their program is able to increase the frequency of processors by 18% and reduce their power consumption by 21%. And the development time will drop from six months to one.
