Samsung will ditch its Galaxy Note smartphones in 2021. This is reported by the SamMobile edition.
Corporation executive Koh Dong-Jin revealed at its 52nd AGM that Samsung will not be launching Galaxy Note devices this year. A Samsung spokesman explained this step with a shortage in the semiconductor market, which will make it difficult to launch a new series of flagships. The potential Galaxy Note 21 will also compete with current top-end devices such as the Galaxy S21 Ultra. This could ultimately hurt the sales of both models.
At the same time, Dong-jin assured shareholders that the fate of the flagship has been determined, and in 2022 Samsung hopes for positive dynamics in the market of components for smartphones and leaves an opportunity for the release of the device. The top manager clarified that the release dates for future Galaxy Note may be shifted. Usually the company presented the devices of this series in mid-August.
“Galaxy Note is an important product category for us. Over the past 10 years, devices have been invariably liked by consumers in the global market, ”the businessman emphasized. Ko Dong-jin also noted that Samsung is working on developing a series of stylus-enabled phones like no other gadget manufacturer.
The current device of the Note family is the Galaxy Note 20 announced in August 2020.
Earlier, rumors appeared on the network that Samsung intends to finally bury the Galaxy Note series of flagships. However, an anonymous source at the company called these reports false.
