Samsung may install 6K displays in smartphones

by alex

The media reported that Samsung Display is developing technology that will allow the creation of displays for smartphones with a density of 1000 pixels per inch. This could ensure the emergence of models with 6K screens.

According to the source, Samsung is working on oxide thin film transistor (TFT) technology for OLED panels. The company hopes to have a finished product by 2024. Samsung will need to reduce the power consumption and manufacturing costs of such screens.

The higher the pixel density, the, in theory, the higher resolution smartphone displays can support. If you take the diagonal of the flagship Samsung smartphone – about 6.8 inches, then in such a screen with a pixel density of 1000 ppi you can “fit” a resolution of 6K, that is, 6144 x 3240 pixels. So far, there is no such permission in smartphones.

Of course, this is just an assumption, and Samsung may not release a smartphone with such a screen.
