Samsung has made remarkable strides in the semiconductor business. According to the results of the second quarter of 2021, the company became the largest chip manufacturer in the world in terms of revenue.
That is, Samsung has outstripped even Intel. Analysts believe that the position of the South Korean company will not be shaken in the near future. For the second quarter of 2021, Samsung earned 22.74 trillion won, or about $ 19.7 billion.
Intel has held the top spot for most of the past three decades, behind the South Korean company only in 2017 and 2018.
Samsung also released financial statements last week, in which it said that the company's total operating income rose 54% in the second quarter. Samsung attributed this to higher-than-expected prices for DRAM and NAND chips.
