Rutte Calls Trump 'Daddy' - Trump Reacts

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called US President Donald Trump ” Daddy “. He laughed it off.

During a press conference, Trump answered questions from a Sky News journalist on the matter.

Correspondent Deborah Haines asked how Trump feels about the flattery of the NATO Secretary General, and whether he considers NATO members his children?

“He loves me, I think he loves me. If he doesn't, I'll tell you. I'll come back and hit him real hard, OK? Real gentle,” Trump responded.

When further asked about his attitude towards his alliance allies, given how they are meeting his demands for increased defense spending, the US president said he believes they “need some help.”

Let us recall that during the NATO summit in The Hague, Mark Rutte, NATO Secretary General, called Donald Trump “daddy”.

This is how he commented on Trump's reaction to the situation between Iran and Israel, when he said: “We have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the hell they're doing anymore.”

“They're in a big fight, like two kids in a school yard. They're fighting like crazy. You can't stop them. Let them fight for two or three minutes, and then it's easier to stop them,” Trump said.

To this, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte responded that “Daddy” sometimes has to use strong language to make everything stop.

“Dad sometimes has to use strong language,” Rutte said.

Let us recall that US President Donald Trump also commented on the Russian Federation’s strikes on Kyiv, which recently resulted in the deaths of civilians.
