In Russia, the Optron-Stavropol plant, the only enterprise that was supposed to supply military aircraft and “import-substituting” passenger airliners with semiconductors, has been shut down.

According to the Central Data Center, the Optron-Stavropol enterprise is on the verge of bankruptcy due to the huge losses it incurred while fulfilling the state defense order.

“The company’s accounts have been frozen due to tax, utility and salary debts,” the statement said.
They say that the Russian government set low prices for the company's products and forced it to operate at a loss for a long time, despite the fact that it is the only supplier of microelectronics for aircraft in the Russian Federation.
“Although Russian propaganda claims that military-industrial complex enterprises are constantly increasing production, in reality, in the fourth year of a full-scale war against Ukraine, the Russian Federation is forced to save budget funds even on defense orders,” the CPI notes.
And they note that war expenses continue to undermine the Russian economy, which even affects the work of defense enterprises that are unique to the Russian Federation.
Recently, Russian Economy Minister Maxim Reshetnikov stated that the Russian economy is on the verge of entering a recession.
At the same time, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov expressed a more optimistic point of view.
The economy is “cooling,” he said, but after every cooling, “summer always comes.”
