The Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN accused the United States of hypocrisy because of attempts to present its policy in Afghanistan as a success. The corresponding message appeared on the website of the Russian diplomatic mission.
“The result of the twenty-year presence of US troops and their NATO allies can hardly be considered a victory. Rather, on the contrary,” says the Russian mission’s response to the release of the US permanent mission, which listed facts about “the restoration of American leadership in the UN in the first year of Joe Biden’s presidency.”
According to Russian diplomats, the arrival of Americans in Afghanistan only contributed to strengthening the status of the United States as the main hotbed of terrorism and drugs.
Earlier, the Russian permanent mission to the UN accused the United States of spreading lies about the situation around Ukraine. As indicated in the diplomatic mission, Washington, instead of dialogue, voices an “engaged and having nothing to do with reality position,” which is “a vivid example of the destructive line of the United States.”
