The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) supported the creation of a register of tourist real estate in Russia, as well as the introduction of an identification number for the owners of such housing. This was reported by the Izvestia newspaper.

So, Russians who rent out apartments to tourists will be registered and obliged to pay taxes at a rate of 4 percent. It is noted that the document on the legalization of tourist housing was developed back in 2019. Earlier, the bill was supported by Rospotrebnadzor and Rosturizm.

Alexey Kozhevnikov, Vice President of Opora Rossii, noted that at the moment a large number of proposals for short-term rental housing are outside the legal framework. The bill will help make this industry safe, competitive and generating money for federal and regional budgets.

Earlier, the Crimean authorities said they did not plan to introduce a resort tax for tourists, and also prepared a bill to invalidate the law on it. At the same time, in Sochi, from 2022, the size of the resort tax for tourists will increase from 10 to 50 rubles.
