Elvina Gilfanova, an analyst-researcher of digital products at the Center for Digital Expertise of Roskachestvo, gave advice on what to do in a situation if she flooded my laptop with something.
The expert asserts to Gazeta.ru that it is possible to save the device. At the same time, liquid damage is the cause of breakdown in 60% of laptop repairs. That is, the problem is widespread.
According to Gilfanova, you need to immediately disconnect the laptop if you flooded it. That is, unplug the power cord and remove the battery. It makes no sense to check the operation of the device. After turning off, you need to turn the laptop over, drain the liquid that got inside and wipe everything that you can. Then the laptop must be taken to a service center.
“Depending on the type of liquid that got inside, you can have from one to several hours before various important components of the equipment fail,” said the specialist.
She also advised not to disassemble or dry the laptop yourself.
