Deputy Director for Clinical Work of the Moscow Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Gabrichevsky Rospotrebnadzor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Tatyana Ruzhentsova commented on the information about the “covid parties”. She dispelled the myth about their benefits for the formation of immunity from coronavirus, Sputnik radio reports.

Ruzhentsova called omicron a completely unexplored strain of coronavirus. Most patients tolerate it easily, but its symptoms require attention, serious attitude and further study. The mutation has hidden risks that remain to be identified.

“We see severe fatigue, fatigue, headaches and high fever, which may indicate damage to the nervous, cardiovascular and endocrine systems. It still needs to be studied, ”the doctor warned the Russians.

The specialist added that there were reports in the press about people deliberately infected with coronavirus from sick friends. They did this in the hope of forming immunity from infection without serious consequences for the body. Now such assumptions have intensified against the background of the spread of “omicron”, however, “covid parties” have even led to deaths.

“There is a good chance that in some groups, especially those with chronic illnesses, there may be repercussions after these parties. We are talking about the severe course of COVID-19. We do not yet know this, while there are very few data on the omicron, but one must be prepared for such consequences. “Covid parties” is the wrong position, because this way you can create problems for yourself and those around you, ”explained Ruzhentsova.

Earlier, doctor Aleksey Khukhrev said about the connection between bad habits and the risk of contracting COVID-19. Chronic stress, lack of sleep and smoking increase the chances of contracting coronavirus.
