After another accusation of cyber attacks against the Russian Federation, the Russians explained the US habit of blaming Russian hackers for all Internet breakdowns. This was a reaction to a statement by CNN that a hacker group, allegedly based in Russia, has attempted to hack government networks in the United States and some European countries in recent months.
According to CNN sources, the group posed a threat to a number of government structures and organizations in charge of policy issues – in particular, foreign. In addition, technology providers that provide access to the ultimate target organizations in North America and Europe were also allegedly threatened.
Russian users were already not surprised to accept the new, unreasoned accusation against Russia and explained why it was not the first time that Russians were called to blame for cyber problems.
