On August 31, the US State Department released a statement by the G7 countries on nuclear terrorism by Russian occupiers at the ZNPP. In the document, the states condemn the actions of Russia.
The IAEA mission has already left for the ZNPP. However, the Russian invaders continue to open fire and bombard Energodar.
G7 Joint Statement
The G7 countries condemned Russia's actions at Ukrainian nuclear facilities. The statement stressed that the occupying country is committing nuclear blackmail.
Russian representatives must leave the ZNPP territory immediately and without additional conditions, a 10-kilometer demilitarized zone should appear around the station, – the report said.
The statement said that Russia's actions increase the risk of a nuclear accident. They endanger:
- Ukrainians;
- the population of neighboring states;
- the international community.
In addition , stressed that any attempts by Russia to disconnect the station from the Ukrainian energy system are unacceptable.
Russia shelled Energodar
While the IAEA mission is already on its way to Energodar, the Russians continue to shell the city. the occupiers want to mislead the IAEA. Russians cynically hit the residential areas of the city. The enemy drove from howitzers D-30 caliber 122 mm. There are casualties as a result of shelling.
