The sick leave will be closed after seven days if the patient who was previously treated for COVID-19 no longer has symptoms of the disease. Thus, it is no longer necessary to provide a negative PCR test for discharge. The simplification of the discharge rules is reported in the resolution of the chief sanitary doctor of Russia. New data is published on the legal information website.

According to the document, if the patient is treated for seven days or more, repeated testing can not be carried out, that is, discharge is allowed without a laboratory examination for COVID-19. At the same time, if the duration of treatment of an infected person is less than seven days, then a negative test is still necessary to close the sick list.

The new decree, signed by the chief sanitary doctor Anna Popova, comes into force on Sunday, February 6.

Earlier, it also became known about the abolition of mandatory self-isolation for those who came into contact with COVID-19. In addition, Popova assessed what the current situation is in Russia.

As of February 5, it is known that 18,032 Russians who fell ill with COVID-19 were hospitalized over the past day. The infection control center also noted that the number of hospitalizations increased by 1.3 percent.
