The Russian youth team reached the quarterfinals of the World Ice Hockey Championship (WCH), beating the Austrian team in the group stage match. RIA Novosti reports.
Group B meeting, which took place on December 29 in Edmonton, Canada, ended with a score of 7: 1. Vasily Podkolzin, Rodion Amirov, Marat Khusnutdinov, Artmeniy Knyazev, Yegor Afanasyev and Arseniy Gritsyuk distinguished themselves in the Russian team. The only goal was scored by the Austrian Senna Peters in the 28th minute.
The Russian youth team scored six points in three matches and secured the fourth place in the group table. The Austrian national team did not score a single point and is now on the fifth line. The team from Sweden is in the lead (the same number of points, superiority in additional indicators).
