Thanks to a special purification system, the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine cannot lead to the problem of blood thickening and thrombosis, virologists explained in an interview with URA.RU.
As the head of the laboratory for especially dangerous infections of the Center for Fundamental Translational Medicine, Professor of Virology Alexander Chepurnov reminded, after the introduction of the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, there have been cases of coagulation disorders associated with problems with blood clotting. “Sputnik does not have this, the developers attribute this to the created effective virus cleaning system,” he said.
The virologist explained that Russian scientists removed the accompanying proteins from the vaccine, which could later provoke the appearance of thrombosis.
His colleague, Professor of the Department of Virology, Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University, Alexei Agranovsky, noted that Russian scientists receive pure vaccine components, so the likelihood of thrombosis after the introduction of Sputnik V components is negligible.
Earlier, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) reported on a combination of Sputnik V and AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccines. Clinical studies carried out in Azerbaijan have previously shown the absence of serious side effects and cases of illness after the introduction of the vaccination.
