The Russian Sputnik V vaccine has shown 100 percent effectiveness in clinical trials in Venezuela. This was announced by the head of the country Nicholas Maduro in an interview, the record of which was posted on his Twitter.
“We conducted tests in Venezuela, and it is one hundred percent effective,” he replied to the journalist in response to a relevant question. He also added that no complications were recorded in patients from the Russian-made vaccine.
Earlier, immunologist Alexis Ipolito García Piñera spoke about the results of a Venezuelan study of a vaccine from Russia: according to him, mild side effects were detected in the subjects.
There are currently several COVID-19 vaccines in the world. Thus, two vaccines are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. The US also began inoculating the population with drugs from Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna. Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines have been approved in the UK.
