Joint patrols along strategic routes of the M4 Syria, the Russian and the Turkish military is suddenly disrupted. This was reported in his Twitter account correspondent ANNA News Oleh Blokhin.

According to him, it is known that the official cause of the incident was the notice of the Turkish law enforcement agencies of the command of the Russian forces in Syria on the impossibility to fully ensure security in the collection point in the district of al-Havre, in the province of Idlib.

The reporter noted that the situation may be more complicated: either Turkey cannot force illegal armed groups to stop terrorist activities in the area, or the Turkish side is trying to hide something. “Perhaps Pro-Turkish militants draw heavy weapons to Syrian army positions and try to avoid later accusations of attacks to be brought against Turkey”, — stated in the message.

Earlier in July it was reported about the attack on the Russian-Turkish convoy in the Syrian province of Idlib, injuring three soldiers from the Russian side. In early June, a similar attack also injured three soldiers. Then the militants managed to undermine improvised explosive device (IED) right under the Russian armored car.

Russian and Turkish soldiers started joint patrols of the Kurdish areas in Northern Syria in the autumn of 2019. It is provided by the October Memorandum of understanding between Moscow and Ankara, accepted the results of negotiations of presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan to end in the region of the Turkish military operation against supporters of the Kurdistan workers party (PKK), which Turkey considers to be terrorists.
