There is a small contingent of Russian military personnel on the territory of Belarus . This number is not enough to invade Ukraine.
The speaker of the joint press center of the Northern Defense Forces, Yuri Povkh, announced this during the telethon.
“The Russians maintain a small contingent on the territory of Belarus. There are hundreds of personnel. These are the personnel of transmission centers and airfield workers,” he said.
He notes that it is impossible to say that the Russians have completely withdrawn their troops from Belarus. Over the past 24 hours, the operational situation on the northern border with neighboring Belarus has not undergone significant changes.
“No signs of the creation of enemy strike groups were found. Also, no abnormal movements of the Belarusian Armed Forces were detected in the tactical and operational-tactical depths from the border,” Povkh said.
Let us remind you that earlier the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate told whether there was a threat from Belarus. According to intelligence representative Andrei Yusov, the situation in this direction is now under control.
