“In 2018-2019, we spent enough time in the United States to build a network that helped us work remotely on product localization and other business tasks. Of course, I had to learn how to launch all the main processes remotely and something was unusual, but due to this, the launch in the United States was even cheaper than planned, “said Svetlana Zakharenkova, co-founder of Smart Bear.
The company indicated that the revenue from the sale of toys in the United States is $ 25 billion per year, which is almost 20 times more than the Russian market. The US market accounts for a quarter of the global market, with the smart toy segment growing the fastest. Within three years, the Russian startup expects to become one of the leaders in the market for smart toys for preschoolers in the United States and sell up to 1 million devices annually.
Mishka AI began work on the Smart Bear prototype in 2017. The first sales took place in January 2019. The company is engaged in engineering and methodological development of the device in Russia, and the content team for the English-language version of the toy is located in the United States.
