The 36-year-old Zvonareva paired with a German woman in the final defeated the tandem of Chinese Xu Yifan and tennis players from the USA Nicole Mericar with a score of 6: 4, 6: 4. The match lasted an hour and 22 minutes.

For the Russian woman, the victory in doubles at the US Open was the second in her career. She first won the trophy in 2006. Siegemund won the US Open final for the first time in her career.

Zvonareva is the former second racket of the world. The Russian woman occupied the highest position in the rating in 2010.
