Tennis player Andrei Rublev said he contracted the coronavirus, there are minimal symptoms

Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev contracted the coronavirus ahead of the ATP Cup and Australian Open tournaments. He wrote about this on his Twitter page.

The athlete, who is now in Barcelona preparing for the tournaments, wrote that he has minimal symptoms. He also noted that he was fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

“I follow all the prescriptions of doctors while in isolation. I am very upset about what is happening, I will return to the court as soon as possible, ”wrote the tennis player.

Rublev, 24, is ranked fifth in the world ranking of the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP). He has eight victories in tournaments under the auspices of the organization. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo, he won a gold medal in mixed doubles with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. As part of the Russian national team, Rublev won the 2021 Davis Cup.

The ATP Cup will be held January 1-9 in Sydney. The Russian national team got into group B and will play with teams from Italy, Austria and Australia. The Australian Open will take place from 17 to 30 January.
