The Russian Su-27 fighter intercepted two NATO military aircraft over the Black Sea. This is reported by TASS with reference to the National Center for Defense Management (NTSUO).

It is noted that aircraft from the United States and Great Britain were seen in the skies over neutral waters.

“The crew of the Russian fighter identified the aerial targets as the British Air Force RC-135 strategic reconnaissance aircraft and the US Navy P-8A Poseidon patrol aircraft and escorted them over the Black Sea,” the statement said.

Also, the NTSUO said that the actions of the Su-27 did not allow violations of the state border of Russia.

Earlier on September 17, it was reported that the Russian MiG-31 intercepted two US Air Force strategic bombers over the Bering Sea. The Ministry of Defense said that two unknown aerial targets approached the state border.
