A Singapore court sentenced Russian citizen Vladimir Danilenko to 14 months in prison and a fine of 30,000 Singapore dollars (approximately 1.7 million rubles) for knocking out debts in favor of a credit company. Reported by The Straits Times.
It is noted that the 22-year-old student took out a loan of 400 Singapore dollars (about 22 thousand rubles), after which he could not return it on time. Then the Bro credit agency invited him to knock out debts, including through threats. The investigation became aware of seven such cases involving Danilenko.
In particular, he, along with his colleague from Sri Lanka, who was sentenced to 10 months, intimidated borrowers, including painting their apartment doors with paint. For each such action, the Russian was paid from 150 to 300 Singapore dollars. TASS clarifies that Danilenko refused the assistance of the Russian embassy.
Earlier it was reported that in the United States, Russian Alexander Brovko was sentenced to eight years in prison for online fraud. The 36-year-old Russian was imprisoned because he was involved in some kind of online scheme, with the help of which personal and financial data was stolen and sold. At the same time, it is known that Brovko himself pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manipulate the network.
