Russian skier Natalya Nepryaeva had a conflict with Norwegian Tiril Veng in the sprint quarterfinals at the first stage of the Tour de Ski. The episode was broadcast by the Match TV channel.
At a distance, the rival of the Russian woman ran into her skis, after which Nepryaeva fell sharply behind. As a result, the skier from the Russian national team finished second after the Norwegian. After the race, the Russian woman shouted at her opponent, who smiled in response.
Both Nepryaeva and Veng made it to the sprint semifinals. Athletes will start in different races. This stage, like the final, is scheduled for Tuesday 28 December.
The first stage of the Tour de Ski takes place in Switzerland from 28 to 29 December. The second stage of the competition will be hosted by Germany, it will take place from December 31 to January 1.
