Russian scientists have created an antiseptic pen designed to disinfect hands, gadgets and food using corona discharge. This is reported by RT with reference to the press service of the National Technology Initiative (NTI).
The developers named their device Crownbrush. According to them, the invention is more effective than alcohol wipes and sanitizing gels, and is also suitable for people with sensitive skin.
Outwardly, it resembles a pen with a discharge head. The principle of its operation is that the device cleans the surface using an electric field with a corona discharge. To disinfect their hands, just swipe them over the fingers.
Currently, developers are creating a larger version of the device for use in retail outlets, in particular, for decontaminating clothing in fitting rooms.
Earlier, the former chief sanitary doctor of Russia, Gennady Onishchenko, compared the effectiveness of gloves and antiseptics to protect against COVID-19. According to him, if you use a sanitizer often, you can destroy all the microflora on the skin.
