Russian scientists have created a “risk calculator” for type 2 diabetes and prediabetes. The development has already been patented and received a certificate from the Federal Service for Intellectual Property.
The authorship of the “calculator” belongs to the specialists of the National Medical Research Center of Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health of Russia. As RIA Novosti reports with reference to the National Medical Research Center of Endocrinology, a new method of controlling type 2 diabetes mellitus and prediabetes is based on the summation of measuring points that vary depending on the value of a number of parameters, including age, the fact of taking medications to correct high blood cholesterol, the presence of diagnosis of type 2 diabetes in blood relatives, body mass index and many others.
To get the result from the “calculator”, you just need to fill in a special table. The method is so simple that it can be used by patients on their own, without involving a physician in the calculations.
“The set of indicators we have developed allows us to identify the risk group of patients with high probability and accuracy, without missing borderline states,” notes the NMIC of Endocrinology.

According to nutritionist Yulia Pigareva, cane and beet sugar are the same in terms of calorie content, but in terms of the degree of purification and production, it is better to give preference to cane sugar.
