At the session “Science and Life. The Edge of Humanity ”during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Russian scientists spoke. They talked about the future of society and its development. During the session, there was an ambiguous opinion about the level of intelligence of people.
According to the director of the Scientific Center of Neurology Mikhail Piradov, which is broadcast by RIA Novosti, the average level of human intelligence in society falls from year to year. The scientist claims that people born from 1930 to 1980 have an IQ level 20% higher than those born after. Piradov also said that most people by the age of 85 may develop Alzheimer's disease or vascular dementia.
Also at the session was the director of the DO Ott Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology, Igor Kogan. He said that 17-18% of married couples have difficulty conceiving. Kogan said that 70-80% “of the products of conception … we lose on this or that path of human development.”
