Russian robot started selling SIM cards

by alex

The Russian company Promobot, together with the Spanish telecommunications holding OliveNet, has created a robot capable of selling SIM cards. He has already started work in Barcelona.

This is a pilot project, so so far one robot is working within its framework. If all goes well, ten such SIM card sellers are planned to be purchased.

The robot can automatically issue a SIM card and even quickly register a subscriber through the application: the “seller” will explain how to download it. It is reported that the robot can keep up a conversation on any topic.

In Barcelona, a robot issues SIM cards from local operators using remote self-identification technology. The amount of the contract for the project at the first stage was 50 thousand euros. In case of a successful pilot project, it can grow to half a million euros.
