Director General of the Institute of Aviation Instrumentation “Navigator” Sergei Baburov said that military aircraft can be made “invisible” on the “Flytradar”.
The specialist spoke about the collision avoidance system, which, in theory, can be equipped with any domestic fighter. Moreover, in the Russian system, unlike foreign ones, there are functions useful for the military. So, in the SPSV (Airborne Collision Avoidance System), a radio silence mode is implemented. You can simply turn off the radiation with a toggle switch or a button, and no one will see the plane. It will also be invisible on Flytradar (an Internet tracking service for aircraft equipped with transponders).
Baburov also said that a new generation of the entire navigation complex has already been created – the Radio Technical Navigation System (RSNP). It can be simply installed and implemented in all modes of navigation, landing, takeoff, and en-route flight.
