Russian pilot Kuzminov, who flew from Russia to Ukraine in a stolen helicopter last year, died in Spain.
Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who in the summer of 2023, during the operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, ferried a Russian Mi-8 helicopter to the territory of Ukraine, was found dead in Spain.
GUR representative Andrey Yusov reported this in a comment to Suspilny.
“We can confirm the fact of death,” noted a department representative.
At the same time, Yusov did not specify any more details. The causes of Kuzminov's death are also unknown.

Ukrainian intelligence conducted a successful operation “Tit” – at the end of August 2023, Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov voluntarily flew a Mi-8 helicopter from Russia to the Kharkov region.
According to the Russian pilot, he got in touch with Ukrainian intelligence through the Telegram channel at the end of 2022. Operation Tit was planned for about six months.
There were two more crew members on board the Mi-8. Maxim Kuzminov said that he urged them to surrender, but they refused. Upon landing, they ran out of the helicopter towards the border. The further fate of the crew members is unknown to Maxim Kuzminov, but he noted that they could have been eliminated.
Maxim Kuzminov already in Ukraine said that made flights to occupied Mariupol and Berdyansk, but emphasized that he did not strike the territory of our state.
Later it became known that the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of Russia announced an order to eliminate the Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who in August flew a Mi-8 helicopter to Ukraine.< /strong>
