Andrey Girinsky, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics at RUDN University, reminded Russian pensioners of the benefits available to them. His words are reported by the Prime agency.

According to Girinsky, pensioners were exempted from paying part of the duties and payments – for example, land tax and property tax. Also, they do not need to pay for servicing a bank card of the Mir payment system, to which pension payments come.

“In a significant number of regions, pensioners will not have to pay for travel in transport,” the expert emphasized. He noted that from February 1, persons who have reached retirement age can receive social support in the form of free clothes, shoes or food.

Earlier, on the website of the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR), it was reported that non-working pensioners from February 3 began to receive payments indexed by 8.6 percent. Along with the pension for February, citizens are also waiting for an additional payment for January, taking into account the increase in indexation from the level of 5.9 percent. Through the post office, banks and other organizations delivering pensions, payments can be received from the 3rd to the 25th.
