In Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk region, law enforcement officers refused to look for the 80-year-old Russian woman who disappeared in a blizzard by geolocation, as a result, the pensioner froze to death, reports NN.ru.
According to the relatives of the Russian woman, the woman stopped answering calls, and she was not at home. When we managed to get through to her, the pensioner said that she was in a hole near the red building.
“The wife went into the department, turned on the speakerphone. They began interrogating my grandmother and asked: “Where are you?” “I don’t know, I’m lost. In some hole. I’m frozen, take me, please,” she said, ”said the husband of the pensioner's granddaughter.
When the girl asked the police for help, they replied that without a court decision they could not determine the whereabouts of the Russian woman using billing. The body of the grandmother was found four days later, literally across the street from the place where she was searched for in the first two days.
“Let the death of my grandmother fall on the conscience of the person who came up with the law that billing can be carried out only by a court decision,” said a relative of the Russian woman.
In turn, State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein said that police officers can receive billing and geolocation from the phones of missing people without court permission. The bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have the right to request this information instantly, as soon as a statement about the disappearance of a person is received, he noted in his Telegram.
