The court deprived the parental rights of a Russian married couple living in Germany – Yulia and Yevgeny Seibert. According to human rights activist Harry Murray, the case is based on highly questionable testimony and is political in nature. He told about this to the REN TV channel.
“Nonsense, unambiguous forgery and slander on the part of the court. An open lie ”, – this is how the channel's interlocutor described the progress of the case. He added that the whole thing is a “Russophobic trick” and the German state has done everything to make it a political issue.
According to him, there are many inconsistencies in the materials of the case: it is based on the testimony of a neighbor from below, who had a conflict with his family: he claimed that he had heard some cases of violence and that he had observed alcohol abuse. At the same time, initially it was said about the alcoholism of both parents, and then it concerned only the father, and no evidence of this – the conclusion of a narcologist, psychiatrist, or even testimony of other neighbors – is contained in the case.
Murray claims that the main reason for the persecution of the Seiberts is that they are Russians and were going to return with their children to Russia. He compared the trial to the famous case of French General Staff officer Alfred Dreyfus: he was convicted at the end of the 19th century for alleged espionage for a military enemy, and suspicion fell on him simply because of his Jewish origin.
