An investigation is underway in Poland.
A so-called Russian oppositionist and his wife have been detained in Poland for explosives.
A Polish publication writes about this onet.pl.
The so-called Russian oppositionist Igor R. was detained on July 29 in Katowice. The court decided to remand him in custody for three months on suspicion of creating an immediate threat to the life and health of many people and property on an especially large scale in the form of an explosion of explosives. In October, the detention period was extended for another three months – until January 27, 2025.
Igor R. is a Russian activist who moved to Poland and studied in Katowice. In addition, he received refugee status in Poland.
The prosecutor's office explained that the main charge against his wife is espionage combined with complicity in an attempted crime. Irina R. was arrested for three months.
According to journalists, the man in Prague was allegedly asked to hand over a package “from Ukrainian volunteers,” which likely contained explosives.
Irina R., for her part, claims that her husband did not receive the package at all. According to her, while the man was in Prague, the package in his name arrived in Poland and the man did not have time to receive it. Polish law enforcement is investigating the case.
