Roskomnadzor has prepared a draft order that will force online cinemas to tell their users about the possibility of free viewing of public Russian TV channels. On August 1, the law on free broadcasting of the channels of the first and second multiplexes on the Internet came into force. According to the document, information about free TV will need to be posted on the main page of the video service.
Also, the video service sites should contain a list of TV channels with names and logos, their sequence and program schedule, according to the draft Roskomnadzor order. All this data is also subject to placement in the video services' own program guides and messages about them.
“Information about the possibility of watching TV channels is posted on the main page of the audiovisual service in a continuous mode, around the clock,” the draft order says.
Owners of online cinemas will also be obliged to maintain a separate page for TV channels and provide priority on it to display those whose broadcast is free on the Internet.
The law on free broadcasting of TV channels of the first and second multiplexes on the Internet came into force on 1 August. Users will have access to 20 key TV channels on the Internet. The distribution of content will be carried out by audiovisual services included in the list of Roskomnadzor. Including the obligation to broadcast TV channels is assigned to services that do not perform streaming.
The TV channels of the first multiplex include: Channel One, Russia 1, Match TV, NTV, Channel Five, Russia 24, Russia K (Culture), Karusel, OTR, TVCenter “. The second multiplex includes: Ren TV, Spas, STS, Domashny, TV-3, Friday, Zvezda, MIR, TNT, Muz-TV. Market participants called Showrina TV the most likely candidate for the role of a single online supplier.
Earlier, “Secret” said that Roskomnadzor reminded the editors of Russian TV channels, radio stations and broadcasters about the ban on broadcasting entertainment programs on the Day of Memory and Mourning (June 22). In fact, Roskomnadzor demanded that TV channels grieve: unwillingness to comply with the decree would be considered a violation.
