Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, one of the developers of modern Russian nuclear weapons, Yuri Trutnev, died at the age of 94. The cause of death is not named. It is known that this happened in Sarov.

Yuri Trutnev was born in 1927 in Moscow. He is one of the main creators of the first thermonuclear charge based on the principle of radiation implosion – RDS-37. For this he was awarded the Order of Lenin, awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. Until the last days of his life he worked as the first deputy scientific director of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center – Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF).
