When attacking Ukraine, Russian missiles flew into the airspace of Moldova and Romania. Note that the latter is a member of NATO. Can this be considered as the Kremlin crossing the “red line” and what threat it poses to European countries – read the article.
Channel 24 said military expert, head of the Center for Military Legal Research Alexander Musienko. In his opinion, such an act by Russia, unfortunately, will not be considered crossing the “red line”.
The military analyst notes that NATO acts cautiously in such situations, we have already seen this – a similar case occurred a few months ago in Poland. He added that this would not force the Alliance countries to send their troops to Ukraine.
NATO does not consider that this is already crossing this red line. But in fact, the situation is very threatening, because the airspace of Romania and Moldova is not closed to civilian aircraft. Therefore, there are dangers in this with all the ensuing consequences, Musienko said.
According to him, the flight of a Russian missile in the sky of Romania and Moldova can generally be interpreted as a manifestation of an act of aggression, this is not what needs to be reacted. “But NATO remains cautious on this issue,” the analyst added.
