A source in the aircraft industry named the timing of the production of a demonstration model of a promising long-range aviation complex (PAK DA).
According to him, experts are already making a prototype of a missile bomber. It should be ready by 2023.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexei Krivoruchko said that the preliminary design of the PAK DA was approved. The final assembly of the aircraft will take place at the Kazan Aviation Plant named after V.I. S.P. Gorbunova.
It should be noted that PAK DA is not a development or modernization of existing machines. This is a new aircraft. It is designed according to the “flying wing” scheme. The new missile bomber will use stealth technology. The aircraft will be able to carry existing and future strategic cruise missiles, precision bombs, hypersonic weapons. The maximum speed of the PAK DA will be subsonic.
