Additional forces of the Russian military police arrived in the Syrian region of Ain Isa to stabilize the situation. This was announced by Rear Admiral Vyacheslav Sytnik, Deputy Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, RIA Novosti and TASS reports.

As Sytnik said, there is an unstable situation in the area. In addition, over the past 24 hours in the Idlib de-escalation zone, 21 shelling by militants of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (banned in Russia) was recorded.

The center called on the sides leading the shelling to stop armed provocations and to settle the situation in the areas under their control by peaceful means.

The armed conflict in Syria began in 2011. It involves government forces on the side of President Bashar al-Assad, the moderate opposition and various Islamist groups, including the Islamic State terrorist group banned in Russia, which controlled a number of territories in Syria and Iraq.
