Russian military device will automatically detect divers near submarines

by alex

At the Army-2021 forum, held from August 22 to 28, the Mayak-2014 complex for detecting swimmers at a distance of up to 500 meters was presented. This is the development of the “Marine Underwater Weapon – Gidropribor” enterprise.

According to the general director of the enterprise, Mikhail Kettuev, small marine objects, such as a man or a dolphin, can be detected 500 meters away. Larger ones, including specialized submarines with two or three specialists on board, can be detected at a distance of up to 1000 meters. As Kettuev noted, Mayak-2014 is a small device that can be immersed to a depth of 2 to 50 meters. 2 or 4 antennas can be installed on it – for linear or circular monitoring.

The device is autonomous – it itself transmits information to the operator in the event of a swimmer or an object. Mayak-2014 can operate at a distance of up to 10 km from the information processing device. “We offer a set of technical means for the protection of sea and coastal facilities, which can be placed in a container or moved. It includes two coastal radar stations – one centimeter-wave, the other millimeter-wave and an optical television channel. These channels allow you to control the surface situation, “- said Mikhail Kettuev.
