The naval aviation (MA) of the Russian Navy, represented, in particular, by MiG and Su planes, will be connected to the “killer” networks, Izvestia reports, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense.
According to the newspaper, the Russian Navy will receive a unique automated control system (ACS) that will allow aircraft, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to exchange data with ships, submarines and ground systems.
The publication writes that in this way “continuous zones of destruction with an area of hundreds and even thousands of kilometers” will be created, within which “the detected enemy objects will be destroyed by all available means.” The newspaper notes that this ACS will also be used with the Zircon and Dagger hypersonic complexes.
According to the publication, the ACS of the Russian Navy MA “is in a high degree of readiness.”
In August 2019, the Zvezda TV channel published footage of the MiG-31K at an air show held at the Dubrovichi training ground as part of the International Army Games.
The Dagger, along with other types of weapons, was presented by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his message to the Federal Assembly in March 2018.
According to open data, the “Dagger” is a modernized version of the 9M723 quasi-ballistic single-stage guided solid-propellant missile of the Iskander complex, which is carried by the MiG-31K long-range supersonic all-weather fighter-interceptor.
