Russian Daniil Medvedev, the winner of the Final Tournament of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), revealed his future plans. He spoke about the upcoming vacation in a conversation with TASS via video link.

“Now I have time to do some good pre-season preparation and rest, most likely at home in Monaco. Now, with this situation [with the pandemic], there are no special flights, and there are many quarantines – I will rest at home, ”he said.

Medvedev added that he has a lot of work ahead of him. According to him, he and the coach are improving all the time, but the work sometimes bears fruit, sometimes not. Medvedev also noted that it was “very funny” for him to read comments and messages in “direct” social networks that he had stopped progressing.

“I can promise that I will train with all my might. Play, fight – like in this tournament. It is not always easy, it does not always work out, but I hope I will please the fans, ”he concluded.

On November 22, Russian Daniil Medvedev defeated Austrian Dominik Tim and became the winner of the Final Tournament of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). The London meeting lasted three sets and ended in favor of Medvedev (4: 6, 7: 6, 6: 4). The match lasted 2 hours and 42 minutes.

Medvedev became the first Russian to win the tournament in 11 years. In 2009 Nikolay Davydenko became the winner of the ATP Final Tournament.

Medvedev ranks fourth in the ATP rankings. The athlete is one of three representatives of Russia who managed to make it to the final of the Grand Slam tournament in singles. Marat Safin and Yevgeny Kafelnikov did it before him.
