Belarus can become a testing ground for “deployment of nuclear missiles.”

The Kremlin has not yet decided whether to invade Ukraine or not.

This opinion was expressed by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, writes Bloomberg.

“I think Russia wants to retain the freedom to choose between both options, to keep some ambiguity about its plans,” Nauseda explained.

Russia is building up troops near the borders to secure “a better, stronger negotiating position,” he said. Nauseda stressed that he believes in a peaceful resolution of the situation. In addition, he advises to remain calm, because there are a lot of rumors around the situation.

The President of Lithuania urged to pay attention to Belarus. They say that a country neighboring Ukraine can become a testing ground for “deployment of nuclear missile weapons.” After all, there are already 45,000 Russian soldiers in the republic.

Nauseda did not rule out that during the talks with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and US Vice President Kamala Harris, he would discuss the deployment of additional NATO troops in the country for security purposes.

Recall, the Estonian Foreign Intelligence Service has announced new dates for Russia's likely invasion of Ukraine. According to them, the Russian armed forces are ready to launch a full-scale military operation against Ukraine from the second half of February .

In turn, US President Joe Biden believes that Russia could attack Ukraine in the next few days, despite the Kremlin's statement about the withdrawal of troops. The United States has every reason to believe that Russia is “participating in a false flag operation”, that is, trying to escalate and blame Kiev for it in order to justify the invasion.
