Flight Radar: Russian Il-76 military transport plane lands in Almaty

Russian military transport aircraft Il-76 has landed in Kazakhstan's Alma-Ata. This is indicated by data from the Flight Radar service.

A large Russian cargo plane is usually used to deliver humanitarian supplies. The purpose of the plane's arrival in protested Alma-Ata has not yet been named.

Earlier it became known that on January 5, protesters in Alma-Ata broke into the building of the akimat (local administration) of the city. The assault on the building was captured on video. The video shows how a crowd of protesters gathered at the entrance to the city hall, and shots are heard.

On January 2, protests against the rise in fuel prices began in Kazakhstan; on January 4, protesters clashed with security forces on Republic Square in Almaty. Law enforcers used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the protests.
