The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has published the text of Moscow's written response to the US response on security guarantees, RBC reports.

The document consists of 11 pages. In particular, it refers to Russia's proposal to the United States to develop a new “security equation”, as well as to withdraw all American troops and weapons from central, eastern, southeastern Europe and the Baltics. In addition, Russia expects specific proposals from the US and NATO on the content and forms of the North Atlantic Alliance's refusal to expand to the east.

The Foreign Ministry also criticized the reaction of Washington and NATO to Moscow's proposals for security guarantees. “The package nature of Russian proposals was ignored, from which “convenient” topics were deliberately chosen, which, in turn, are “twisted” towards creating advantages for the United States and its allies,” the department said, noting that this approach reinforces doubts about that the US authorities are truly committed to fixing the European security situation.

Earlier on February 17, it became known that the United States had received Russian responses to its proposals for security guarantees in Europe. The document was handed over to Ambassador John Sullivan in Moscow.
