Russian figure skater Polina Shelepen complained about angry Russians and urged to follow the example of the United States. Her words are quoted by Sport24.

Shelepen spoke about criticism of skaters in Russia after the change of coaches. She considered that at home they did not know how to adequately respond to the decisions of athletes. “It's more loyal there. Our people are evil. When an athlete leaves a coach, fans turn into anti-fans. There is no such thing in America. This is somehow generally inhuman. I just don't understand, “said the 25-year-old figure skater.

Shelepen is the first figure skater from the Eteri Tutberidze group to achieve high results. She has two silver medals in the finals of the junior Grand Prix (2009, 2011), as well as two silver medals of the Russian championship among juniors (2011, 2012). In 2013, the athlete changed her sports citizenship, moving to the Israeli national team. A year later, she ended her career without ever competing for a new country at the international level.
