Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Petr Dubrov congratulated earthlings on the upcoming New Year from the International Space Station. The video message was published by Roscosmos on Twitter.

The cosmonauts dressed in festive white overalls with the Russian tricolor, Shkaplerov traditionally wears the coat of arms of his hometown of Sevastopol on it. As a headdress, he chose a red spiral decorated with a white pompom, and his colleague chose a New Year's cap.

“We wish you health, resilience, prosperity and new achievements in the new 2022. Be friendly and happy, Happy New Year! ” – Dubrov congratulated all the inhabitants of the Earth.

Shkaplerov wished to plunge into the atmosphere of a magical New Year's Eve mood and noted that all those present on the ISS with earthlings are united by the feeling of a holiday. Very soon cosmonauts and astronauts – Mark Vande Hai, Raj Chari, Thomas Marshburn, Kayla Barron and Matthias Maurer – will gather at a festive table with a New Year's menu, with the exception of champagne, since the station has a “dry law”.

Earlier, Roskosmos revealed the schedule of rest of Russian cosmonauts on New Year's holidays. Anton Shkaplerov and Petr Dubrov will rest on the ISS for only two days: January 1-2. From January 3, 2022, they begin work, they begin preparations for a spacewalk.
