Russian cosmonaut Sergei Kud-Sverchkov recorded a video for Instagram, in which he opened the menu of the New Year's table on the International Space Station (ISS).
“The table will be the most ordinary, but still we will manage to add a holiday touch to the menu – we will make sandwiches with caviar,” he said.
Kud-Sverchkov also added that he plans to invite American colleagues to New Year's dinner.
In November, Aleksandr Agureev, head of the nutrition department at the Institute of Biomedical Problems, said that the astronauts on board the ISS were traditionally sent jars of black caviar. Now the crew will be able to decorate the New Year's table with it, despite the postponement of the launch of the Progress cargo ship to 2021.
