Russian Internet companies and mobile operators have signed a charter for the safety of children on the Internet.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday, September 1, at the press center of the Rossiya Segodnya agency, and Russian President Vladimir Putin watched the ceremony via video link. The document suggests limiting children's access to content that is harmful to their health and development. In addition, the parties to the agreement agreed to remove illegal content and promptly respond to user requests.
The agreement also assumes the joint formation of a favorable digital environment for children. Thus, the companies pledged to develop educational materials, cooperate with youth organizations, and look for talent in the IT field. Such companies as Yandex, Mail.ru Group, Kaspersky Lab, National Media Group, Gazprom-Media Holding, Rostelecom, Megafon, MTS and Vimpelcom have joined the charter.
As a reminder, Russian schools decided to restrict access to negative content on the Internet.
As the website kp.ru wrote, earlier the poll showed that Russians are increasingly trying to limit their children's access to the Internet.
