The deputy of the Samara Regional Duma promises to prove in court his innocence of the offense.
In Russia, Mikhail Abdalkin, a deputy of the Samara Regional Duma from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, was charged with “discrediting” the army through a video he published, in which a communist looks at a message from President Vladimir Putin with noodles on his ears.
Abdalkin himself announced this.
According to him, the Novokuybyshevsky city court will consider the administrative case on Tuesday, March 7.
“We are fighting, we will prove our innocence and innocence,” the deputy wrote, adding a photo with the police in his office.
If the court finds him guilty, the politician faces a fine of 100 to 200 thousand Russian rubles (ie 2-3 thousand euros at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation).
Earlier, Abdalkin posted a video with noodles on his ears and accompanied it with an ironic comment: “I listened to a two-hour message from the President. Fully support, fully agree, great performance. I have not heard anything like this in the last 23 years. Pleasantly surprised”.
After that, the representative of Putin's party “United Russia” in the State Duma Alexander Khinshtein demanded to “restrain” Abdalkin. He stated that such a “prank is appropriate for a Ukrainian, but not a Russian deputy.”
This week, the Samara Duma called Abdalkin's behavior unacceptable and publicly condemned him, suggesting that the regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation expel him from the party.
The head of the LDPR faction in the regional parliament demanded that his colleague be sent to the army.
The head of the press service of the Communist Party faction in the State Duma, Alexander Yushchenko, called the act of a fellow party member “stupidity” and promised that this would not go unnoticed by the party's central audit commission.
Recall that on February 21, Putin, in his address to the Federal Assembly, threatened an escalation in the war if Ukraine received long-range weapons.
